Dr. Aminah Knight: Meet the owner
A Bit about me...
Thank you for your interest in Excellence Early Learning Center! My name is Dr. Aminah Knight and I am the owner, head operator, and curriculum designer of Excellence ELC. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education and Special Education from New York University in 2009, my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California in 2015 and my Doctorate in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University in 2022. I am also a published author, wife and mother of 6!
As I am sure you noticed from my academic background, education is very important to me. I am a life-long learner who loves to push myself to pursue my wildest dreams. When my husband and I met, he asked me what my professional goal was and I said, “I want to be the Secretary of Education”! I am confident that with dedication, hard work and the blessings of God- my dream will come true!
I earned my Bachelor of Science in 2009 with my two children by my side. If it was not for my supportive family, excellent childcare, discipline and determination; I don’t think that I would have reached the academic and professional milestones that I always dreamed of.
Excellence Early Leaning Center is committed to providing exceptional care to all children. I understand that it is a parents/ caretakers first priority to ensure that their child is in a safe, loving, academically stimulating environment while they are outside of their care. I remember the peace of mind that I felt knowing that my children were happy, loved, learning and thriving while I was studying and working to provide an amazing life for them. My team and I are here to provide you with that same peace of mind!

About Us
At Excellence Learning Center, we value multiculturalism, small classroom sizes, healthy eating and a warm, loving environment that feels like home. Our staff reflect the beautiful diversity of the HEB community and have degrees is topics ranging from education, accounting, biology, pharmacology, science, nursing and mathematics from their home countries. At Excellence we understand that more staff equates to more love, attention and supervision. That is why we keep a low staff to child ratio of 1:5 for all classroom. This allows us to give children lots of hugs, guide them to complete engaging learning activities, ensure that they are grasping key concepts and keep them safe.
We believe that a healthy diet is crucial in supporting childrens physical and emotional development. For this reason we serve well balanced, healthy and organic meals, offer children water throughout the day and fresh fruits and vegetables with each meal.
Children feel at home when they come to Excellence, they are greeted by their teacher with a warm hug every morning and are gently eased into their classroom routine. Within no time, children feel a sense of ownership of their school environment and seamlessly move from one activity to the next throughout the day. We are excited for your family to be a beautiful part of the story of Excellence Early Learning Center and to be a part of your childs learning journey.
